Will I keep my current phone number when I switch?

Yes — you can transfer (port) your existing phone number to TAG Mobile when you switch.

What you need to port your number

  • Keep your old account active until the transfer completes
  • Your account number and PIN or transfer code from your current carrier
  • The billing ZIP code on your current account

How long porting takes

Number transfers usually complete within 24 hours. Don’t cancel your old service first — canceling early can cause the transfer to fail.

Ready to switch and keep your number? Enter your ZIP code to begin.

After your number transfer is complete

Once your transfer is complete, keep your TAG Mobile SIM or eSIM ready, restart your phone, and toggle Airplane Mode off and on so the device can reconnect to the network.

If your old carrier shows the number has transferred but your TAG Mobile service is not working yet, contact TAG Mobile support for activation help. Do not cancel your old service until the transfer has completed successfully.

Porting out and Lifeline benefit transfers

Transferring your phone number is different from transferring your Lifeline benefit. If your Lifeline benefit moves to another provider, see What happens if my Lifeline benefit transfers to another provider?.
