TAG Mobile Network Management Policy

Internet Service

This page provides information about TAG Mobile’s Broadband Internet Access Services. “Broadband Internet Access Services” refers to services that provide the capability to transmit data to and receive data from all or substantially all Internet endpoints. The network practices, performance characteristics, and commercial terms applicable to TAG Mobile customers on TAG Mobile’s Broadband Internet Access Services over our Network Supplier’s 4G LTE and 5G+ networks are described below. This page does not describe the practices, characteristics, or commercial terms that may apply when roaming. This information applies to both Lifeline and Prepaid services.

What terms and conditions apply to TAG Mobile’s Broadband Internet Access Services?

Broadband Internet Access Services are subject to the TAG Mobile Terms and Conditions at Terms and Conditions (tagmobile.com). International calling is subject to additional Terms and Conditions at https://tagmobile.com/ild-agreement. These Terms and Conditions are subject to change so you should visit the Terms and Conditions page frequently including when you activate service. What data plans does TAG Mobile offer? Will my data be slowed on these plans?

Currently, TAG Mobile offers mobile Broadband Internet Access Services for compatible phones and tablets over our Network Supplier’s 4G LTE and 5G+ broadband networks. 5G+ and/or 4G LTE access requires a capable device and SIM within an appropriate coverage area. Your actual availability, speed, and coverage may vary. Each of our data plans features a designated allotment of high-speed data, after which your data speed may be reduced or your data access may be suspended for the remainder of the applicable monthly period, as described in our Terms and Conditions. For example, if you enrolled in a Prepaid Plan and you exceed your Service plan’s 30-day Usage Level (5 GB of 5G+ and/or 4G LTE data on the Prepaid plan), TAG Mobile will reduce the speed at which you can send and receive data until the end of the applicable 30-day period. Certain data-intensive activities including but not limited to online gaming, file downloads/uploads, and video streaming, may be limited and/or inaccessible on the network after data is reduced after 5 GB of usage on the Prepaid plan. For all Service plans, TAG Mobile’s Network Supplier may also reduce speeds during times of network congestion per their policies. Videos stream at 480p. Data is for personal use in the U.S. only, except to the extent we may offer international roaming which is subject to change.

What speeds and performance can TAG Mobile customer expect from their branded Broadband Internet Access Services? Where are these available speeds?

Speed and Latency

Speed

The term “speed” is commonly used as a shorthand way to describe the rate at which a particular Broadband Internet Access Service can transmit data. This rate (or speed) is typically measured in the number of kilobits or megabits transmitted in one second (Kbps or Mbps). Some applications like email or basic web browsing do not require a high-data speed to function very well, while other activities like high-definition video streaming or transferring large data files are better experienced with higher data speeds

Latency

Latency, also known as delay, is the amount of time from when a data packet is sent to when it is received. For Broadband Internet Access Services, latency is usually expressed as the round-trip time in milliseconds (“ms”) that it takes for a data packet to travel between two end points on the Internet (from point A to point B and then back to point A). Some applications, such as email, can tolerate a substantial amount of latency without any noticeable impact on the application’s performance, while other applications, such as real-time video conferencing, require lower latency to function properly.

Based on our Network Supplier’s published network management policy disclosures, and subject to the factors described above and below, TAG Mobile expects TAG Mobile customers with recent broadband-capable devices and qualifying service, to generally expect the following speeds and latency ranges on the 5G and/or 4G LTE networks. 5G and/or 4G LTE access requires a capable device and SIM within an appropriate coverage area. Your actual availability, speed, and coverage may vary:

Other Network Management Practices

  • Blocking. Except for our network management practices disclosed in this notice or in our Terms and Conditions (including our Privacy Policy), we do not block or otherwise prevent end user access to lawful content, applications, service, or non-harmful devices
  • Throttling. Except for our network management practices disclosed in this notice or in our Terms and Conditions (including our Privacy Policy), we do not degrade or impair access to lawful Internet traffic on the basis of content, application, service, user, or use of a non-harmful device. Please refer to the policies described in our Terms and Conditions for more information.
  • Prioritization. We do not engage in practices that directly or indirectly favor some traffic over other traffic, including through use of techniques such as traffic shaping, prioritization, or resource reservation. Notwithstanding the foregoing, our Network Supplier may implement certain practices from time to time that may result in de-prioritization of some users.
  • Congestion Management. We or our Network Supplier may reduce speeds during times of network congestion. For additional information, please see our Terms and Conditions.
  • Application-Specific Behavior. Except for our network management practices disclosed in this notice or in our Terms and Conditions (including our Privacy Policy), we do not discriminate against lawful applications that are compatible with our services. We do not block or rate-control specific protocols or protocol ports, modify protocol fields in ways not prescribed by the protocol standard, or otherwise inhibit or favor certain applications or classes of applications.
  • Device Attachment Rules. You must use a supported, compatible Device to access the TAG Mobile network. Only certain phones and tablets are supported Devices. TAG Mobile will provide you with a list of supported Devices upon your request. Modems, bypass, gateways, automated relay devices and any other Devices used for commercial or re-direction purposes are not supported Devices and violate our policy. Failure to use a supported, compatible Device when accessing our network will result in immediate termination of your Service.
  • Security. TAG Mobile takes the security of its network very seriously. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions (including our Privacy Policy) for a list of precautions we may take to ensure security.
