Why did my phone order change to BYOD or SIM-only?

In some cases, an order may change from a phone order to BYOD (bring your own device) or SIM-only. This can happen because of application timing, payment status, device availability, eligibility review, or system processing.

Common reasons this can happen

  • Your application was not completed within the required review timeframe.
  • A payment connected to the order could not be completed or confirmed.
  • The originally selected device is no longer available.
  • Your application or order needs additional review before a device can be shipped.

What BYOD or SIM-only means

BYOD means you can use your own compatible, unlocked phone with TAG Mobile service. SIM-only means TAG Mobile provides the SIM or eSIM needed to activate service, but a new phone is not included with that order.

What to do next

  • Check your email or text messages for updates about your application or order.
  • Make sure any required payment or document request has been completed.
  • Contact support if you believe your order changed by mistake.

Order details can vary by account, so TAG Mobile support can review your specific application and explain your available options.
