1. How the Free Tablet Program Works in Ohio
The Lifeline program is a federal program that allows low-income households to access affordable communication services. If you receive SNAP benefits, you are automatically eligible for Lifeline. Lifeline providers in Ohio use this qualification to offer free or low-cost devices, along with monthly service support.
1.1. How Much Does The Lifeline Program Pay?
The program offers subsidies to reduce your monthly phone or internet bill directly through approved providers.
- Up to $9.25 per month for most eligible households.
- Up to $34.25 per month for people who live on Tribal lands.
Note: Discounts apply to only one service per household. This subsidy is applied automatically to your monthly bill once you are approved.
