Device Unlock Policy

TAG Unlock Policy
TAG Mobile subscribers with locked phones may be eligible for a replacement phone. Learn more about our phone unlock policy below
  • TAG Unlock PolicyYou must submit a request: TAG requires a formal request to unlock your handset.
  • TAG Unlock Policy12 months of active service: Your locked device needs to have been active on TAG Mobile for at least 12 months. Additionally, your phone number cannot have been recycled or ported during that time.
  • TAG Unlock Policy Request window: You can request unlocking while your service is active or within 60 days after it expires. This grace period applies even if your number was recycled or ported.
  • TAG Unlock PolicyEligible handsets: Only TAG-locked devices launched or activated after September 1st, 2018, are eligible.
  • TAG Unlock Policy Working condition: The phone must be functional and not damaged.
  • TAG Unlock PolicyClean history: The phone cannot be reported stolen, lost, or involved in fraudulent activity.
  • TAG Unlock Policy Military exception: Deployed military personnel can have their phones unlocked upon presenting deployment paperwork.
  • TAG Unlock PolicyOnce per year: Each customer can only unlock a phone once every 12 months.
  • TAG Unlock PolicyProof of ownership: TAG Mobile may request verification that you are the authorized user of the account requesting the unlock.
